SERVER POSITION

Little Pep is looking for a server to join our small team. We are a wine bar & shop in downtown Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Our hours are Wednesday & Thursday from 5-10pm, Friday & Saturday from 3-11pm, and Sunday from 1-8pm.

Who We're Looking For: The right person for this job will have a strong knowledge of wine, the ability to work well as part of a team, a positive attitude, a willingness to take direction & feedback, the ability to learn quickly & adapt to a menu that changes daily, and a love of all things food, wine, and hospitality.

Job Description: This is a part-time position requiring 3-4 shifts per week which equates to about 20-30 hours. This job will include bar & table service, bussing tables, assisting customers in the retail area, helping with dish, assisting with expo & running food, and cleaning responsibilities. 

Must have:

• A strong working knowledge of wine

• Availability to work 3-4 shifts per week

• Capability to make thoughtful wine & food recommendations and confidently guide customers through our menu

• Availability to work during the holiday season (closed Thanksgiving Day & Christmas Day)

• Ability to carry 40 lbs.

• Ability to stand for a minimum of 7 hours

 
Nice to have:

• Service industry experience

• Previous wine bar/wine shop experience

• Familiarity with Toast POS

Shifts: 4:30pm to close Wednesday & Thursday, 2:30-8pm/5:30 to close Friday & Saturday, & 12:30 to close on Sunday 

Pay: $8.50/hour + tips (typically ranges from $35-$55/hour). Tips are pooled and split evenly amongst servers based on hours worked. We tip out the kitchen 20% and 10% to the server assistant.

Time Off: We will close down the shop for two weeks twice a year — once in January and another time in June/July. During this time off, employees that work 4+ shifts per week will be paid their hourly wage for their average weekly hours.

Start Date: The ideal start date is November 1st, but no later than November 12th.

Moving Stipend: Don't live in Winston-Salem but may be interested in this job? We're willing to help the right candidate relocate by assisting with moving expenses.
